The tenth edition of the Venice Hospitality Challenge was presented yesterday at the Venice Boat Show, a perfect stage for visibility also aimed at international markets.

The famous regatta rounds the buoy of its first ten years on the wave of ever-growing success thanks to its formula which provides for a successful synthesis between the Venetian maritime spirit and the commitment to sportingly testify to the excellent hospitality of the Serenissima.

Born from an intuition of Mirko Sguario, president of the Venice Yacht Club and patron of the event, the Venice Hospitality Challenge boasts a unique prerogative: it is the only regatta in the world that takes place entirely in a city circuit, giving life to an inimitable show with magnificent boats engageda few meters from the spectators on the shores of the San Marco basin.

The start of the regatta, reserved as always to Maxi Yachts only, will be given at 1.30 pm on Saturday 14 October and, to celebrate the tenth anniversary, an exhibition will be set up at Palazzo Vittoria alle Zattere in which prizes, posters and memorabilia of the winnersand participants will be displayed of all past editions. Inauguration on 29 September with opening to the public from 30 September to 15 October.

The participation of the most important 5-star Venetian hotels has been confirmed again this year: Aman Venice, Bauer Palazzo, Ca' di Dio VRetreats, Ca' Sagredo Hotel, Hotel Danieli, Hotel Excelsior, The Gritti Palace, Londra Palace, JW Mariott, Nolinski Venezia, Palazzina Grassi, St. Regis, SINA Centurion Palace, Violino d'Oro and Alajmo Ristorante Quadri. As in the past, skippers and crews will compete for the Doge's hat, which for this tenth edition will be made by Adriano Berengo, master glassmaker of the historic Murano laboratory.

In keeping with the central theme of the Show, the Venice Hospitality Challenge confirms its environmental commitment by supplying the crews with clothing made by Mureadritta obtained from the recycling of plastic bottles: a choice perfectly in line with what the Municipal Administration is aiming for Venice which by its natural vocation must be an example of eco-sustainability worldwide.

The regatta, which is part of the official events of the Venetian Autumn, benefits from the patronage of the Municipality of Venice and the main partnersVela Spa and Salone Nautico Venezia.
