This summer will be very special for one of the UK's biggest, friendliest and longest-running regattas for dinghies and small keelboats: it's the 75th Poole Week.

Taking place from 20th to 25th August, Bournemouth Digital Poole Week revolves around six afternoons of racing in Poole Harbour. It's afternoons only, leaving the mornings free for family activities or relaxing. And in the evenings - well, the entertainment laid on by Parkstone Yacht Club is legendary.

On the racing front, class starts are expected for RS200s, ILCA 6s and 7s, Wayfarers, Flying Fifteens, Dart 18s, XODs, Cornish Shrimpers and Poole Dolphins. A handicap fleet - or two, depending on entries - will cater for other classes, but any that enter in sufficient numbers will be given their own starts.

All classes will receive on-the-water coaching from top coach and Ocean Race commentator Niall Myant-Best, whose tips in previous years have helped many competitors work their way up their fleets. Niall will also be providing post-race analysis aided by video footage.

Sponsored by Bournemouth Digital, Poole Week is supported by Badger Beers to help ensure no one goes thirsty. Further support comes from Ovington Boats and Hartley Boats.

A big feature of Poole Week has always been the spot prizes presented at the daily prize-givings. It's a random draw, so anyone can win. The contents of the goody bags this year are being provided by Rooster and, as ever, will be well worth winning. Event-branded jackets, polo shirts and T-shirts are also available from Rooster.

There's much more to say about Bournemouth Digital Poole Week, but the most important thing right now is to get your entry in: early-bird rates apply until the end of May.
