Paignton at the end of June for a three day nationals is looming large in the Supernova psyche. A great venue, a fabulous crowd, all racing a class of boat that caters for a wide range of helm sizes.

We are less than a month away from the deadline for entries into the Hartley Boats Supernova Nationals. 31st May is your cut off to join one of the largest adult single hander fleets in the country. We are already at over 80 entries and would love more of you to experience the challenge that racing in such a large fleet has to offer.

30thJune, July 1st, July 2nd are the important dates.

www.supernovadinghy.org/nationals-2023 is the website address to allow you to access the entry process.

You will need to become a member of the association, but that will allow you to join us at other events later in the year.

Just a quick reminder of what's on offer at this year's event.

The fleet are a fabulous crowd to mix with: advice & support is always on offer from those who have been in the class, know the ropes, understand how to get the boat going quick. Our buddy system shares this knowledge too where 'Gold' sailors are spread around the boat park to assist the fleet's development.

Paignton was last visited in 2019, great memories of that event has already got the entry list well into the 80s. It's open to the prevailing South-westerlies, but somewhat protected from the real swell by the Brixham headland.

The Boat - the modern MkII Supernova is one hell of a piece of kit. A relatively light hull at 50kg that is so stable and forgiving; a well proportioned, fully battened sail plan; a rig that can be powered up in those lulls, and fully raked and de-powered in a breeze. The more you tweak the controls, the faster it flies.

So what next? - if those three days of racing on the 'English Riviera' sound like your thing - ask any Supernova sailors down your club who have not entered that you'd like to borrow their boat to give it a try. Many of us have borrowed boats in the past and quickly made the jump into this fabulous fleet.

www.supernovadinghy.org/nationals-2023 is the place to go.

When by? Before the 31st May.

Entry is £120. The more entries we get increases our sponsorship support from Hartley Boats, which in turn means more for you.
