Gladstone Ports Corporations Marina becomes nation's newest 5 Gold Anchor Marina

Beautiful vistas, world class facilities, pristine parklands and now an internationally recognised five Gold Anchor Marina, Gladstone Ports Corporations (GPC) Marina is simply magnificent.

Hard work and dedication by the GPC Marina team has seen the 320 berth Marina become only one of 11 Marinas in Australia to receive the accreditation.

GPC CEO Craig Haymes said the Marina is located on the Southern Great Barrier Reef and is perfectly positioned to explore the secluded anchorages, tropical islands and pristine coral reefs of the area.

"Our Marina can welcome vessels from 9 metres to 45 metres, and today even includes dry docking for the smaller vessels," Mr Haymes said.

"The team have worked tirelessly to achieve this accreditation, it's an absolute testament to their consistent high quality service and all the upgrades made in recent years.

"Enhancing GPC's reputation and strengthening our community engagement and investment is a main focus of our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategic priorities and attaining this accreditation is just one area that we are achieving this."

The Global Gold Anchor is an international accreditation which requires a rigorous assessment of a marina's services, procedures and facilities.

GPC Marina Superintendent David Osmond said it involves an independent audit of 86 criteria across all areas of the business plus a customer survey and even mystery shoppers.

"The accreditation aims to inform consumers as to the level of services and facilities at marinas and to provide marinas with a set of benchmarks to maintain and a pathway for continual improvement," Mr Osmond said.

"We have made a range of upgrades such as new BBQ areas, facilities upgrades, the inclusion of the Marina Lounge and a new Marina Bus and shelter just to name a few.

"It's been a team effort across all areas of GPC from Parks to Planning, Engineering, Electrical and our Marina team, we are all thrilled to have been recognised at this level."

GPC looks forward to working with the Marina Industries Association (MIA) and continuing their strong commitment to the environment with Gladstone Marina also an accredited International Clean Marina and Fish Friendly Marina.
