Today, the Osprey Class launched its search for a new Youth Team. A brand new young pairing will be given the chance to borrow and sail a top spec Osprey at this year's Osprey Nationals, at Hayling Island SC, from September 2nd to 5th.

Will the lucky winners lead the 50+ strong Osprey fleet round the course at Hayling?

Well first they have to apply, competing against many other youth teams, and come out on top. Not only do they get to borrow the class association demo boat, but they even gain free entry to the Championship, saving at least £200 in fees.

Today, the Osprey Class Association announced the Competition Rules:

  • The competition is open to any sailor where both the Helm and the Crew are under the age of 30 on Wednesday 6th September.
  • Both Helm and Crew must be able to sail competently with a Trapeze and a Symmetric Spinnaker
  • Helm and crew must have a combined weight of over 120Kgs
  • The winner will only win use of Osprey 1360 for the 2023 National Championship event, and will not win ownership of the boat.
  • Entry closes on the 31st March 2023
Fill out the Google Docs form at forms.gle/PBnmhYJQMjRhzw9J9

The Class Association's selection decision is final.

Already the class has Under 30 age helms and crews, but we want many more!

The class's Youth Rep, Jamie Blake said, "I'm looking forward to welcoming this new team, and I hope many other young sailors into the class this year."

Don't delay, apply now, by 31 March.

More information about the Osprey class is available at www.ospreysailing.org.uk.
