4th Cascais SB20 Winter Series

The 4th Cascais SB20 Winter Series debuted in light winds, from 6 to 10 knots, from west, allowing the fleet of 18 boats of the SB20 class to sail the three scheduled races.

The lead at the end of the first day belongs to the boat Solyd Property Developers, with 3-1-1, helmed by Vasco Serpa and assisted by Pedro Costa Alemão and Diogo Machado Pinto. Martin Eastlander's team with Artem Balakin and Eduardo Marques are runner ups with 1-6-2. Closing the podium was Hellonext by Nuno Cabral with Gonçalo Lopes, Francisco Maia and Carlota Gala with 5-4-4.

On the second day of the 4th Cascais SB20 Winter Series, the fleet completed the last three scheduled races, this time with winds between 7 and 14 knots, keeping the direction similar to that of the previous day, that is, from the West.

After finishing the first day in second place Martin Estlander with Eduardo Marques and Artem Basalkin at the controls of the boat SailCascais showed that regularity pays off, 1-(6)-2-2-2-1, and thus became the big winner of the 4th Cascais SB20 Winter Series. The Solyd Properties Developers team of Vasco Serpa, Pedro Costa Alemão and Diogo Machado Pinto fell to second place after a more difficult last day, finishing with 3-1-1-1-8-6-(9). Miguel and Francisco Oliveira's boat, captained by Tiago Morais, Another Affair, has reasons to smile after a better day afloat, allowing the North team to rise to 3rd place overall and thus close the podium of this event, 2-(12)-10-1-4-2.

The event of the Cascais SB20 WinterSeries is scheduled for the 25th and 26th of March with the dispute for the top places all open. Leadership is from the boat Hotel Valverde by Pedro Mendes Leal with 8 points followed closely, with one point from distance, by Miguel Oliveira's Another Affair. SinBin/SailCascais boat by Martin Estlander closes the provisional podium with 11 points.

Cascais Winter Series are composed by 5 events, one per month, held from November to March. Are expected to Sail in Cascais more than 30 boats from 10 different nations during the winter time. This championship is supported by Turismo de Portugal, Visit Cascais, Cascais Municiplaity, Portuguese Sailing Federation, Cascais Marina and Vista Alegre.
