Shustoke Sailing Club Throws Down The Gauntlet

Beat us if you can! The annual throwing down of the glove takes places on Saturday March 18th at Shustoke Sailing Club.

The Gauntlet challenge consists of two 80-minute pursuit races at only £5 entrance per boat (free to paid up club members). The reservoir water level is at its maximum and a warm welcome awaits you.

Briefing is at 11.00am, the first gun will not go before 11.25.

Registrations will be managed in order of booking. Final registrations are by 10.30 18th March 2023.

Comets at Shustoke
Some sailors arrived before the club even opened and rigged outside the compound! Shustoke Sailing club hosted its second Comet Open on Sunday 19th May in glorious sunshine and a pleasant north-easterly breeze blowing diagonally across the 100+ acre reservoir. Miracle End of Seasons at Shustoke
Six visiting teams from across the country joined the home boats What a fabulous weekend! Glorious sunshine, a good breeze, great venue and super hospitality. Merlin Rockets at Shustoke
It was entirely possible to take five places on one shift Sunday the 20th August saw the Merlin Rocket fleet return to Shustoke SC as part of the Merlin Rocket HD Sails Midland Circuit. On arrival the sun was shining with a decent breeze blowing down the lake from the south. Posted on 22 Aug 2023
Shustoke Comet Open
A good sailing day after a dire forecast! Shustoke Sailing club hosted its first ever Comet Open on Sunday 16th July. There was some doubt, in the days leading up to the event, whether or not the meeting would take place due to the forecast of high winds and thunderstorms. Posted on 21 Jul 2023
