The dates have now been set: The EUROSAF Inclusive European Championship 2023 will take place from 23 to 30 September in Los Alcázares, Murcia, in Spain.

  • Multiclass event for Hansa 303 and 2.4mR in Los Alcázares, Spain
  • EUROSAF reaffirms its continued support for inclusive sailing

The EUROSAF Inclusive European Championship is always sailed as an inclusive regatta. This means, that para sailors and non-para sailors are competing in the same event without handicap or compensation. As it is a multiclass event, it will be open to the classes Hansa 303 and 2.4mR. There will also be some rental boats available to make travelling easier.

The event will at the same time be the Spanish Championship for the Hansa 303 and 2.4mR classes, and the final date was well coordinated with other events. Only a little later in October, the Hansa Class World Championship will take place in Portimão, Portugal.

"The International Paralympic Committee has rejected sailing being included in the programme of Los Angeles 2028. It is frustrating to see our inclusive sport out of bounds of high-level competition. EUROSAF will of course continue to support inclusive sailing in Europe.", highlights Josep M. Pla, president of EUROSAF.

The event is organized by Club Náutico Mar Menor Los Alcázares and Univela Sailing International in conjunction with EUROSAF. "The entire organizing team is very honoured to be able to celebrate such an important event.", says co-organizer Rafa González. It will be run as a clean and green regatta. The Spanish Society of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine (SERMEF) supports the event and will be on site with doctors, equipment and professional advice.

Note the date and share it with interested sailors!

More information will be available soon at eurosaf.org and 2023eurosaf-inclusive.univela.com
