On behalf of Australian Sailing, I would like to express our profound sadness at the news of the loss of life of one of our sailing community during an incident at Lincoln Week Regatta today.

We would like to offer deepest condolences to the friends and family impacted by the loss, and offer our full support to Port Lincoln Yacht Club, its members, volunteers and competitors at this time.

The Lincoln Week Regatta is being run in conjunction with the Australian Yachting Championships, and we commend the club on their quick response to the incident.

All those involved in rendering prompt assistance are to be commended, including fellow competitors, volunteers, coaches, and others afloat and ashore.

The thoughts of the sailing community remain with all those impacted today, and we join with the club in requesting privacy for the family at this time.
