Available now through all Vaikobi Sailing retailers is the new Vaikobi Edge Padded Short, designed to provide superior protection and support when hiking, sitting and moving around when racing and training.
The 10mm contoured padded protection on the seat and legs, along with VAR (Vaikobi Abrasion Resistance) are key design features of the Edge Shorts. Designed to kick into gear when hiking and sitting on the deck, the innovative padding structure provides protection, support and maximum comfort - which work together to reduce fatigue when racing and training.
Importantly, the Edge Short padding is constructed using our Vaikobi proprietary super-soft foam that enhances support and protection by moulding to your body shape and maintaining excellent memory and spring.
The rest of the Edge Short is constructed with PolySpandex that keeps you light and comfortable and ensures the shorts can be worn either on their own, under a pair of shorts, or over the top of a wetsuit.
Vaikobi's Head Designer Bart Milczarczyk comments "The brief was to produce a short that provided maximum protection for your butt and legs when sailing, and in particular when hiking either on a yacht, sports boat or dinghy. Importantly, we also needed the short to be as streamlined as possible to not restrict movement or comfort. After a strong testing period across a range of sailors, the Edge Short ticked all these boxes and is ready to protect your important assets on the water."
