Sail Canada announced today that Checklick, an online sailor evaluation service, will now be the official presenter for Sail Canada's annual Instructor of the Year Award.
Checklick is the online sailor development tracking system used by sailing schools and instructors across Canada as a direct means to offer progress through Sail Canada program standards. Since 2013, the Canadian company has provided to Sail Canada, sailing schools and instructors across the country its online services, offering a simple way to track participants' development and provide up-to-date progress reports directly to the participants. The service offers additional service with Checklick's 'Storefront' service, membership database and marketplace to sell event tickets or regalia.
Checklick is pleased to present Sail Canada's annual Instructor of the Year Award, starting this year. The deadline to nominate an instructor, as is the case for most of other Sail Canada awards, is February 11 and nomination forms are available here.
"Sail Canada and Checklick share the values of excellence in leadership, safety and instructor's development for the benefit of the progression of Canada's sailors," said Sail Canada Chief Executive Officer, Don Adams. "Our partnership shines a light on the annual Instructor of the Year Award. With thanks to Checklick, we look forward to presenting Canada's most recognized Instructors for years to come."
"My first job as a dockmaster at the age of 16 introduced me to the sailing community," recalled Checklick President, Dominik Jablecki. "That first experience then led me to a management position where I had the opportunity to work with sailing instructors. It was at that time that I witnessed the passion that sailing instructors have for the sport of sailing and their dedication to passing on their knowledge. It is an honour to, years later, have the opportunity to contribute to an instructor community that demonstrates such a resolute dedication and passion for teaching the sport."
