    INEOS Britannia - LEQ12 - Mallorca - January 23, 2022 - Day 15

Top sailing journalist, Justin Chisholm was on the water and made various observations:

The British team's 15th day on the water in Palma Bay was a fast and furious affair with several high speed laps of the bay conducted in a three and a half hour window. Gusty winds made keeping the silver LEQ12 stable on a side tow while hoisting the main this morning costing time as the boat was towed to steadier conditions closer to shore.

Later in the day a black and ominous looking rain squall prompted an early end to sailing at around 1530. The team started the session with two long towing runs without sails that were later explained as necessary for data validation reasons.

Once sails were up the crew wasted no time in sending the boat at high speed on a series of extended foiling laps of the bay. Multiple foiling tacks and gybes were witnessed without any momentus splash downs.

Estimated top speed for the day was within a hairsbreadth of 40 knots on a flat water downwind run close to Campastilla. Contrastingly, the final run of the day took the boat eight nautical miles offshore – almost out of Palma Bay.

    Alinghi Red Bull Racing - AC75 - Barcelona - January 23, 2023 - Day 38

From the AC37 Joint Recon team:

Alinghi rolled out at 07:15, the earliest start to date, to find the morning breeze which was forecast to drop and turn 180deg at midday. With a north westerly breeze and east swell, sailing was in cross conditions for a second consecutive training day. The team was on the water for a total of 4 hours. The mainsail was hoisted in the port, the yacht then towed North to the Forum District of Barcelona.

This area is on the outskirts of the city and therefore the sailing area less sheltered by the skyline. The J1 was hoisted and the team sailed two stints of long reaches, attempting a few foiling maneuvers. Some time was spent adjusting jib sheeting system. An end to the session was called on account of the dying wind. Again, it was quoted as "the coldest day on the water so far".
