2023 Contender World Championship at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club - Day 3

by Ed Presley 20 Jan 2023 00:38 PST 16-20 January 2023

Day 3 of the 50th International Contender World Championship saw only two of the intended three races achieved with fickle winds causing race 3 of the day to be abandoned.

To bring the racing back on schedule, four races are intended to be sailed on Thursday commencing at 10:00am.

Those fickle winds suited some however with two new faces taking home the wins as Grant Robinson and Joey Randall made use of what was out there. Simon Barwood continued to climb with a second and at last Luca Bonezzi the Italian champion showed his form with a second as well.

At the end of today, Mark Bulka remains in the top spot on 11 points even with a less than perfect 5, 5 scorline by his standards, with RFBYC's Simon Barwood currently in second on countback ahead of Andre Webster, both sitting on 16 points after the first drop.
