With less than two weeks to go until the start of the 35th Pineapple Cup-Montego Bay race, the Montego Bay Yacht Club is in full preparation mode for the first event held post-pandemic. While the race will be smaller in terms of competitors, the entry list features some of the top sailors and teams around AND the celebration in Montego Bay thanks to Appleton Estate will be bigger than ever!

Gearing up for the start are a mixture of teams, headlined by the modified Volvo 70 Pyewacket. Roy Disney and his team on Pyewacket will be gunning for the monohull course record set in 2005 by Titan 12 at 2 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes and 42 seconds.

In addition to Pyewacket, the race features Bruce Chafee's team Rikki who are a young, amateur team of nine from New England looking forward with excitement to a competitive race and thrilling adventure.

Another strong contender for the silver perpetual trophy will be the Pac52 Callisto. Jim and Kate Murray have been sailing on Lake Michigan for years, but recently they've 'graduated' from smaller boats to the larger Pac52 to take on many of the great offshore races. Their team, a pro-am mix will be competing in the Pineapple Cup for the first time.

Check out all of the teams here.

Once the race starts on January 21st, tracking will be live on PineappleCup.com with further updates on both Facebook and Instagram!
