Notts County Sailing Club First of Year Race Preview

Heads up on the First of Year at Notts County, 12 miles East of Nottingham on 1st January 2023. The racing consists of two back-to-back handicap races on New Year's Day for the Geoff Parker Memorial trophy and Phil Davies Memorial trophy.

Entry is online or you can enter on the day. All proceeds go to Young Lives vs Cancer charity. The Briefing is at 10.30am, first start 11.30 am.

Midlands Topper Traveller Series at Notts County
35 helms made Round 3 the highest entry of the series so far After a longer than normal gap between Traveller events, due to accommodation of the recent ITCA NS1 North event, the Midlands Topper Traveller Series was back into full swing with Round 3 at Notts County Sailing Club on Saturday 10th December 2022. Solo, Aero, Hadron open at Notts County
30 entries from as far away as Weymouth There has been a sizeable increase in the Aero fleet at Notts County Sailing Club so the club decided to add RS Aeros and Hadron to the Solo Open. The extra numbers made for a successful event with over 30 entries. Posted on 3 Oct 2022
Hadron H2 Inlands at Notts County
Richard Le Mare wins in his sparkly new boat Richard Le Mare, sailing his new sparkly purple H2, is the new Inland Champion after winning all 3 races in the one day event. He didn't have it all his own way, though, as Tim Garvin chased him all the way in each race. Posted on 2 Oct 2022

Wind from the more challenging preferred direction Some say that there are two ideal wind directions at Notts County Sailing Club, a Northerly or a Southerly, Northerly being preferred as it is a cleaner wind with not many shifts, Southerly being the more challenging with lots of shifts and holes.
