The 2022 EurILCA Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy concluded today after six days of competition in Hyeres, France. The day started with one hour postpoment on shore due to lack of wind for the ILCA 6. ILCA 7 had to wait a little bit more before launching their boats.

A light breeze allowed all three ILCA 6 fleets to complete a first race, but after it the wind dropped and never returned so around 14:00 they were all sent to shore by the Race Committe, concluding their competition.

Meantime, in the ILCA 7 course the Gold fleet started a race after a long waiting on shore and also on water, but had to be cancelled before the first mark due to lack of wind. The waiting game restarted with zero knots in the course.

After a while without any breeze, and when the Race Committee was preparing to make a final decision, the wind suddenly arrived together with rain to allow a last race to be sailed in epic conditions.

This way and after ten races for the ILCA 6 Women, nine races for the ILCA 6 men and eleven races for the ILCA 7, we can proudly announce our new 2022 EurILCA Senior European champions!
