The entry list is growing steadily in the 52nd running of the biennial Los Angeles to Honolulu race, known to all as the Transpac. Currently there are 44 teams from Australia, Canada, Mexico and the USA entered in this ocean racing classic first sailed in 1906 and organized by the Transpacific Yacht Club (TPYC).

With the first of three starts planned for June 27th 2023, there is just over seven months left to the firing of the first starting gun. Who will be the 45th entry, and from what nation?

This race is open to entry for a broad spectrum of offshore-capable monohulls over 30 feet in length and multihulls over about 45 feet - complete entry requirements can be found in the Notice of Race. Entries may be classic production boats like the 1960's era Cal 40, to modern custom race boats like the Transpac 52, a class first defined by TPYC, introduced to the world in the 2001 Transpac and still growing in popularity around the world.

A look at the current entry list gives a flavor of how this diverse fleet is shaping up: among these entries are race boats, cruiser/racers and outright cruisers, with pro crews, mixed pro-am crews and all-amateur Corinthian teams. There are those who have done this race numerous times and keep coming back, and others who are doing this race for the first time.

Transpac appeals to them all.

There are dozens of awards given to the top finishers among these teams after crossing the finish line at Honolulu's iconic Diamond Head. Transpac trophies are among the most coveted in the sport, with long histories and names of legendary yachts inscribed on them - isn't it time for your boat to join this prestigious list?

Regardless of the race results, upon landfall each team reuniting with their families and friends in Honolulu will enjoy a generous display of Aloha, a unique and enduring feature of Transpac that is powered by a tireless army of volunteers who are critical to the race's 100+ years of longevity and success.

A new promotional video available now on the race website and on YouTube should be an inspiration to those who want to join us for the 52nd edition of this classic 2225-mile passage to paradise.
