The M32 fleet is getting together for the final and major event of the season. The World Championship, this year in Cascais, Portugal. The three series of the season, Miami, Newport and Europe have come together and it's game on. One team will leave this regatta as World Champions.

The team to beat and reigning World Champion is Convexity with skipper Don Wilson and tactician Taylor Canfield. They have had a busy season as many teams are challenging for the top spot. Chasing are several teams that have proved that they can win both races and regattas. Inga from Sweden with skipper Richard Goransson and tactician Chris Draper was second at last year's Worlds in Miami. Bliksem with skipper Pieter Taselaar and tactician Chris Steel arrives to Portugal as fresh European Champions and Dan Cheresh skipper on Extreme2 with tactician Morgan Larson brings the win of the Midtown Cup series in Newport.

The week-long event starts with two days of pre-words for all to get used to the race area followed by a day of rest and equipment inspection. On Thursday 6 October, the racing for the Championship starts and goes on for four days.

The entire season has been designed to allow for shipping and for the fleet to come together at the amazon venue Cascais. Although most teams are sailing their own boat the strict manufacturer controlled class rule makes it viable to lease a boat for overseas teams. The class has a history of leasing boats winning Worlds and Continentals so the skill required is truly up to the crew.
