The 2022 HumpyBash Regatta in Bramble Bay off Redcliffe is attracting competitors from far and wide who embrace competing in perfect sun, wind and wave conditions for stellar junior and senior racing.

Humpybong Yacht Club president Ryan McLaughlin said the seventh annual Bash is expected to attract between seventy and one hundred plus competitors in high performance catamarans and a wide range of senior and junior dinghy classes over Saturday15 and Sunday16 October 2022.

HumpyBash is a key tune up for boats, skippers and crew at the start of the 2022- 23 sailing season. Perfect condtions in Bramble Bay with ideal and very comfortable water temperature and typical east to northerly sea breezes make for exhilarating sailing.

We have competitors from throughout Queensland, New South Wales to Victoria and even Tasmania who have come to Redcliffe for the Bash as training and refining of their sailing skills before annual national championships are held nationwide over the Christmas-New Year break.

We again expect significant numbers of around 100 to 150 plus boats in all classes for the weekend including key competitive fleets of high performance A class, F16 and F18 Nacra's.

The public is in for spectacular racing as these catamarans power around their windward to leeward loops and up to the finish line. Meanwhile youth and senior sailors will battle it out for line honors in the dinghy classes racing triangle courses with Lasers, 125's, Contenders, 505's, Taser, Sharpie, RS100 and other craft jockeying for position in the packed senior fleet.": Mr McLaughlin said.

Humpybong Yacht Club runs the Bash junior fleets in their own separate race area in more protected waters with high level competition amongst the big fleet of Opti's and RS Neo's.
