ePropulsion, a global leader and market challenger in marine electric propulsion systems and services, announced an agreement with Mastercraft and its Crest Pontoon brand to power the 2023 Crest Current. The recently launched pontoon will include a factory-installed ePropulsion Navy 3.0 Evo electric motor and an E175 battery.

The ePropulsion Navy Series is the backbone of ePropulsion's line of electric outboard motors. It provides efficient and clean power for aluminum fishing boats, dinghies, daysailers and cruising sailboats, suitable for saltwater and freshwater. Thanks to the direct-drive technology, the Navy electric outboard boat motor is quiet, low-maintenance, and reliable. The included E-Series battery is designed for optimal performance, providing long life cycles, and consistent operation for the easiest ownership experience.

"Crest Pontoons is leading the way as one of the first and largest pontoon manufacturers to adopt electric propulsion on a new model boat," said Chris Ponnwitz, electric market manager for Mack Boring & Parts Co, ePropulsion's North American partner. "The product design team at Crest have made a thoughtful decision selecting the Navy 3.0 Evo as the propulsion of choice for the new Current. We are confident that it will provide Crest's owners with the quiet and efficient ride that our existing customers have come to expect, and the Crest Current will be the perfect platform for making memories that last a lifetime."

"With a variety of options when it comes to electric propulsion, we felt the ePropulsion Navy 3.0 Evo was the perfect fit for the new Current," said Patrick May, president, Crest Pontoon Boats. "The Navy 3.0 Evo is a reliable and durable product and offers a host of features not found on other motors in this power range. We are looking forward to our partnership with ePropulsion on this and potentially other projects in the future."

The Crest Current is an electric pontoon boat that combines luxury and eco-friendly features for a relaxing on-water experience unlike any other. The electric model was designed with the eco-conscious in mind. With superior comfort, timeless style and the highest quality construction, this electric pontoon boat delivers thoughtful and functional features and industry-leading innovations.
