Italy always in the lead among the men with Benedetti; fifth and sixth Jacopo Renna and Manolo Modena.
On Garda Trentino, the third day of the iQFoil International Games, organised by the Circolo Surf Torbole, was intense to say the least: a slalom, a marathon race and two course races were held, bringing to 14 the number of races completed so far, with the marathon being worth double with the usual spectacular 'rabbit start' with the dinghy crossing the starting line at full speed.
The uncertain weather forecast for the next two days meant that as many races as possible were attempted, taking advantage of all the wind of the day: it is thanks to the great work of the FIV Race Committee assisted by the posaboe staff (electrics), that it was possible on the third day to race as many as three different disciplines (modulated according to wind intensity), as envisaged by the iQFoil Olympic class.
The top positions in the men's category did not change: Italian Daniele Benedetti (Fiamme Gialle) remained in the lead, with a first in his slalom heat, a second in the marathon, and a first and a sixth in the two course races held in the late afternoon. Second overall and first under-21 was Australian Grae Morris, followed in third place by Thai Will Mac Millan, winner of the marathon race. The two Circolo Surf Torbole athletes Jacopo Renna and Manolo Modena retained their fifth and sixth places.
Among the women, the Chinese showed endurance qualities with first and second place in the marathon race. However, the Czech Barbora Svikova, winner in the slalom, third in the marathon race and evidently tired in the last two course races, in which she finished with two sevenths, discarded, maintains the lead in the overall classification. Second and third place overall went to China's Huang and Zheng, who also did well in the course races where, as in the marathon, they finished first and second. Germany's Engelmann dropped to fourth place.
