Only one race separates the leaders of the respective fleets Melges 20 and Melges 32 from the title of World Champion but the verdicts are still to be written with only one race left for tomorrow which can mean everything.

The three races today (wind from 030 with intensity between 8 and 10 knots) determine a ranking in the Melges 20 class where the podium is defined with the name of Fremito d'Arja of Dario Levi as third, while the title of World Champion it is a two-way affair between the current leader, the Italian Brontolo of Filippo Pacinotti (with the American Taylor Canfield as tactician) and the Monegasque Nika of Vladimir Prosikhin (tactician Manuel Weiller).

A head to head that continues from the first round of this World Championship and which today saw Brontolo not only put the arrow (1,1,7) taking the lead in the general classification but also mathematically stroke the title during today's last race. Only a proud comeback from Nika (5,3,5) who managed to get behind Brontolo at the finish line allows the challenge for the title to be kept open. Tomorrow, Brontolo will be able to defend 4 points on Nika who at this point has only one mission: to keep Brontolo behind.

In the Melges 32 class the leader on the eve of the last race remains the Norwegian Pippa II (1,7,1) of Lasse Petterson (with Gabriele Benussi) but this happens in a very short ranking with the German Homanit (2,2,2) by Gordon Nickel (with Magnus Simon as tactician) to one point and with fellow countrymen of Heat (4,1,6) by Max Augustin with his Corinthian team two points behind the leader.

Fremito d’Arja and Homanit are also the two boats of the day on the day presented by the sponsor Octium.

Tomorrow the last decisive round of the Melges 20/32 World Championship is expected with a strong south/east wind.

The Melges World League 2022 counts on the support of: Helly Hansen, Quantum, North Sails, Garmin and Madonna di Campiglio as well as the technical partners Free Ride Cosmetics, Equilibra, Rigoni di Asiago, Revì, Acqua Cedea, Azienda Agricola il Ponte, Birrificio Petragnolo, Dai Dai, La Bellanotte, Sabatini Gin, Caffè Toscano, FoodNess and le Formiche di Fabio Vettori.

Melges Europe and the Melges World League support the One Ocean Foundation message by signing the Charta Smeralda.
