The sixth Annual Firecracker Regatta included the RS Aero Texas State Championship and the inaugural RS Aero US Women's National Championship this year and the competitors enjoyed great breezes on both days alongside the hot temperatures.

With 30 RS Aeros ready for action in their covered racks on the floating docks makes Viridian Sailing Center the perfect destination to fly in and charter, in addition to their local members and visitors in the Dallas area. The Center is having great success in offering the RS Aero as its performance single hander as it provides a rewarding experience for a wide range of abilities.

In total 25 competitors, including 11 women and four youth sailors, took to the water. Travellers came from as far away as Australia, New York and Florida!

On the Saturday evening a beautiful Harvest Dinner was shared and enjoyed by all the competitors at Viridian.

The sailors said:

  • "I cannot say enough good things about this regatta. Viridian definitely took hospitality to the next level! Everything was done perfectly. Thank you!"
  • "Exciting weekend racing the RS Aero and growing friendships with phenomenal sailors at Viridian Sailing Center, home of regatta hospitality. The laughs! The wind! The food! The SWAG! Thank you, for setting the bar so high and putting this event on everyone's must-race list!"
  • "Viridian Sailing Center are raising the bar for regatta hospitality! Lots of love and effort has gone into this event, especially the Inaugural Women's Nationals - this will be a can't-miss event on the regatta calendar."

Thank you to Viridian Sailing Center, for a truly awesome event and to the Event Sponsors for helping make this weekend event so special;
