On the gorgeous Lake Zwenkau near Leipzig in eastern Germany, the Regattaclub Zwenkau and the Deutscher Segler-Verband hosted the 2022 J/70 German Championship over a three-day weekend for a fleet of thirty-four boats.

With weather ranging from zero to 20 kts plus from the north/northwest, the RC/PRO teams managed to run a total of eight races, permitting a single discard race for the competitors.

In the end, winning was Max Adami's German NEVERLESS team from Munich Yacht Club- Bastian Henning, Ferdinand Gerz, and Lukas Ammon. Winning two races and scoring four deuces, they were the class act of the regatta, winning with just 14 pts net.

Second was another German team, Erik Witzmann's JAN H team of Andreas Wiener, Nele Sophia Witzmann, and Leonie Wiener with 26 pts net. Rounding out the podium in third was the Danish team of Jesper Toft sailing FLEX-TRIM (Henrik Billmann, Claus Bodilsen, and Mads Holmer).
