Southampton International Boat Show is pleased to name Active Nation's Southampton Water Activities Centre (SWAC) as its official charity for 2022.

From sailing to powerboat training, school trips to first aid training, Southampton Water Activities Centre, powered by Active Nation, a national health and well-being charity, has a simple cause-led mission to 'inspire the nation to improve their health and well-being' and by getting thousands of children and adults on the water each year SWAC enables communities to discover the great outdoors.

"We are delighted to be Southampton International Boat Show's official charity for 2022. We hope that being linked to show will bring attention to the great work the whole team are doing to enable more and more people to get on the water and share the amazing benefits that being on the water can bring people's health and well-being, alongside learning great new skills. We passionately believe that never has it been more important to discover the great outdoors and let the fresh air improve your mental health", commented Maxwell Bradbury Knight, Assistant Business Manager at Active Nation.

Situated at the base of the Itchen Bridge in Southampton on the sunny south coast, Southampton Water Activities Centre is a premier watersports training centre delivering a range of fun, exciting and informative activities where visitors can discover and indulge their passion for life on the water.

For many, a visit to one of Active Nation's outdoor or alpine activity venues allows them to submerge themselves within a hobby or practice their skills. For others however, Active Nation enable first time experiences resulting in the building of friendships, hobbies and even new-found careers.

"We are extremely pleased to be able to support Active Nation and the great work they are doing at Southampton Water Activities Centre, providing children, adults and those from all backgrounds from across the country, the opportunity to get out on the water safely and experience all that watersports has to offer.

"Clearly there is a natural synergy between the show and Active Nation and we hope that our visitors will join us in supporting them and help provide those who may never have considered getting out the water the opportunity to try," commented Lesley Robinson, CEO, British Marine.
