RELiON® Battery, a global leader in lithium batteries, has announced a partnership with 1% for the Planet nonprofit organization The Bee Cause Project.

As part of its Limitless Blue™ initiative, RELIiON is a 1% for the Planet business member and partners with a range of nonprofits supporting causes such as ocean conservation, food security, and access to solar energy. RELiON will support the organization's "Bee a Friend to Pollinators" program, which funds educational grants for South Carolina schools to install live beehives and pollinator-friendly habitats and provide STEAM-Based educational materials.

"The Limitless Blue Team is always looking for new organizations that align with our values and support causes we care about," said Danielle Ferguson, Brand Marketing Director, RELiON. "When we found The Bee Cause project, we knew it was a natural fit to work with them. We are proud to fund 15 schools and support the hands-on learning that also contributes to protecting such an important part of our ecosystem."

The Bee Cause Project is working to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards while protecting the planet's pollinators. The nonprofit began after Ted Dennard, founder of Savannah Bee Company, and Tami Enright, beekeeper and environmental educator, installed their first observation beehive at Sullivans Island Elementary School. Soon after, they became a 5% Give Back recipient at the Charleston Whole Foods Market and partnered with Whole Kids Foundation. Since its creation, The Bee Cause Project has provided Bee Grants to over 650 schools and organizations across the U.S., Canada, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico.

"We're so thrilled to kick off this partnership with the team at RELiON and to provide the Bee A Friend to Pollinators grants to South Carolina educators," says Tami Enright, Executive Director of The Bee Cause Project. "We look forward to providing vital learning tools to educators across the state while also supporting the installation of pollinator-friendly habitats."

In 2020, RELiON launched its global initiative Limitless Blue™, a giveback campaign focused on using business as a force for good. This program involves employee volunteer opportunities, community events, and local nonprofit support through their 1% for the Planet business membership where the company donates 1% of its sales each year to environmental nonprofits. In the past two years, RELiON has partnered with more than 15 nonprofit organizations focusing on issues such as renewable energy, food security, and ocean conservation. Some highlights include providing 6,700 people with clean water for 10 years with Wine to Water, recovering over 1.05 million pounds of surplus produce with Food Forward, and training 70 female entrepreneurs every 15 months through the Kula Project.
