A cloudy start turned into a sunny and warm day with light breeze for Day 2 of the Miracle Nationals at Dabchicks Sailing Club.

After a slight delay, Race 3 got off to a disciplined start with Graham and Helen (4114) taking a great pin end flyer and making good progress upwind.

In the middle of the pack, Paul and Nathan Robinson (4110) had to go around everyone at the top mark, with the Smiths (2551) calling starboard on Marcel and Bella Neuteboom (2007), who subsequently hit the mark and did their turns, whilst the Smiths eeked around the mark.

For the second lap, Hannah and Tom Metcalfe-Smith (3805) and Brian and Yvonne Mumford (4099) both went to the port side of the beat which took advantage of the windshift and a slight move of the windward mark, enabling them to go mid-pack to the front of the fleet, finishing 5th and 6th respectively.

The leaders of the fleet remained unchanged with Ian and Ella Fryett (4011) and Jon and Jess Willars (3834) in 1st and 2nd respectively. Abbey Mumford and Tom Hirst (4040) came in with a sterling 3rd place after a fantastic start and Brian Jones and Jago (4021) coming in 4th - both best results so far!

The local sailors, William Powell and William Marfleet (4009) took an excellent 8th place, ahead of seasoned Miracle sailors Wayne Atherton and Angela Sweeney (4121) in 9th.

A disciplined Miracle fleet was off the line on the first time of asking in Race 4, with a nice spread along the line. Jon Tippett and Kathy Boulton (4020) got off to a good start and were 3rd around the windward mark after the Fryetts and the Willars.

On the second lap, ahead of Brian and Jago, Abbey Mumford hit the windward mark and promptly conducted her turns. On the sausage leg, the Metcalfe-Smith's undertook Abbey and Tom, only for them to promptly take it back on the next beat.

The usual suspects were at the front with another 1st for the Fryetts, the Willars in 2nd place, and Wayne and Angela restoring their form with a 3rd. The senior Mumford's were building on the success of race 3 with a 4th place. The Neutebooms were back to fighting form after a tough 3rd race and ended the race in 5th with Jon and Kathy finishing in 6th - their best result so far.

Another Youth race was hosted after the racing today, whilst a couple of boats went off to explore the local waters.
