The West Marine US Open Sailing Series enters the sixth and final event of the 2022 circuit in spectacular San Francisco, a sailor's paradise, as sailors from around the nation will come together for three days of racing in five classes. The series is the new domestic training and competition platform for athletes preparing for the Paris 2024 and LA 2028 Olympic Games, and beyond.

The final event is hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club and San Francisco Yacht Club this weekend, August 12-14, 2022. Competitors will take to San Francisco Bay in the Formula Kite, QFOiL, ILCA 7, ILCA 6, ILCA 4, and 470.

This weekend's event features several young stars in the kite and board classes. Daniela Moroz, five-time Formula Kite World Champion, will compete in the Formula Kite class after a long stint training in Europe. In the iQFOiL class, 2022 Youth Worlds representatives Danika Sailor and JP Lattanzi will be vying for a spot on the podium.

US Sailing launched the second season of the West Marine US Open Sailing Series in 2022 with host yacht clubs in Florida including three events in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Clearwater that took place in January and February. The second half of the series took a West Coast swing this summer with events in San Diego and Long Beach.??

Friday evening, join Olympic Gold Medalist Anna Tunnicliffe Tobias for the Olympian & Olympic Hopefuls Panel, live at the Sausalito West Marine and on the US Sailing Facebook page at 6:30pmPT. Tunnicliffe Tobias will speak to other Olympians and Olympic campaigners competing at the event about their journey.

US Sailing would like to thank Title Sponsor West Marine, National Sponsors Gill, Gowrie Group, New England Ropes, and Yeti for their support of the event.

Entry list available here: Kites & Boards, ILCAs & 470s.
