Scheduled for 2nd to 4th September, the 24th edition of the Island's combined yacht clubs' Jersey Regatta is open for entries. Generously sponsored by leading offshore law firm Carey Olsen for the third year running, Chairman Bill Harris reports that this flagship event is well on track to provide another exciting and memorable experience for all, novice and experienced sailors alike.

The Regatta opens on Thursday 1st September with the traditional welcoming 'icebreaker' reception. Racing for the keelboat classes gets under way with a distance race on Friday morning whilst the dayboats, dinghy, sport catamaran and windsurfer classes programme will see boats racing in the beautiful natural arena of St Aubin's Bay, later that afternoon.

Friday's races are 'standalone' with their own trophies and prizes whilst, for the Regatta-proper, races held on Saturday and Sunday count for each day's trophies and prizes and the overall 'Best-in-Class' prizes.

Now in its 9th year, the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship, with prizes provided by Spinlock, promises even keener competition in the IRC cruiser/racer fleet. Last year's winner, Guernsey's Ali Bisson's Sunfast 3600, Killing Time, will be defending his title.

The Regatta is an open event for the sailing community as a whole, locals and visitors alike; those arriving from 'distant' parts are assured of a very warm welcome.

Registration is online at the link below. 'Early bird's signing up no later than Friday 12th August benefit from discounted fees after which standard fees apply; entries close on Friday 26th August. Fees cover all aspects of the sailing and social programme excepting the separately-ticketed Regatta Party.

Additionally, complimentary berthing is being provided by Jersey Marinas, keen supporters of the Jersey Regatta over the past twenty-four years.
