Call for nominations - Ontario Sailing Board of Directors

The Ontario Sailing Nominations Committee is now accepting nominations for the Ontario Sailing Board of Directors for the upcoming election at the Annual Meeting in September 2022.

The Nominations Committee is comprised of three independent Ontario Sailing volunteers, whose mandate is to review all submissions, interview all candidates and then recommend a slate of candidates to the Board with selections based on identified organizational needs.

The committee is seeking nominations for candidates to fill three vacant Director positions. Key competencies that the Board is looking for include financial, communications, human resources, and diversity & equity in line with Ontario Sailing's new Strategic Plan. There are requirements to serve as a Director under the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, and in addition to these, strengths in any of the competency areas are an asset.

To aid in the selection process and to provide the Nominations Committee with the required context for interviews, we ask that candidates submit a cover letter and resume to the nominations committee. Please email your information to Glenn Lethbridge at who will collect nomination packages for the committee.

To aid the Nominations Committee in the review process we encourage interested candidates to submit their interest as soon as possible. As per the Ontario Sailing Association's By-laws, the call for nominations will be open until Friday August 26th, 2022, at 5:00 PM.

If you are qualified, a member of the Nominations Committee will be in touch to set up an interview. A final slate of candidates is required to be presented to the Board of Directors by August 31st 2022 and shared with the Members of the Corporation who are in good standing by September 5th, 2022.
