Three days into Cowes Week, all seven boats in the big boat class are competing in the GP Zero 2022 Series. After a two hour postponement, a south-westerly gradient breeze was enhanced by sea breeze providing excellent conditions with wind over tide rucking up the Solent.

Cowes Week delivered a race of approximately one and a half hours, shorter than yesterday's four hour marathon.

Ian Atkin's GP 42 Dark 'N' Stormy was today's winner by just two seconds after IRC time correction from Guy Dillon & Christian Hamilton's GP42 Khumbu. Third was Ker 40+ Tschuss with Christian Zugel at the helm.

Three races - three different winners - just seconds apart. The GP Zero Class are having a ball at Cowes Week. Ian Walker, tactician on Dark 'N' Stormy summed up today's race. "A short race in awesome conditions with perfect weather." Dark 'N' Stormy leads the class for Cowes Week by two points from Tschuss. Bertie Bicket's Fargo is third.

Day 4 at Cowes Week takes on additional significance as one of Cowes Week's most famous trophies will be awarded to today's race winner. The Britannia Cup was presented to the Royal Yachting Association by King George VI in 1950. It was introduced to stimulate big boat racing, an ethos that is the very central theme of the GP Zero Class.
