RS Games: Top Kiwi crew second overall - RS Feva Worlds - Day 1

Three Kiwi crews are competing in the RS Feva Worlds, which are pat of the RS Games, being staged in Weymouth, UK - venue for the 2012 Olympic sailing regatta.

Light conditions prevailed for the first day of racing. Three New Zealand crews are competing in the RS Feva Worlds, which are part of the RS Games. This is the first time the event has been held for three years - due to the COVID pandemic. The RS Games with over 1,000 entries over the two weeks of the regatta, is the biggest multi class dinghy regatta in UK and possibly the World.

New Zealand's Simon Cooke and Arthur Rebbeck are one of four crews lying in second place overall on 5pts. The Kiwis placed 3rd in the first race, and then won the next two races in their fleet.

Kate Rasmussen and Madi Russell (NZL) are lying in 21st overall - boosted by a second place in the first race, backed up with 16th and 13th places in the next two races.

Ashton Cooke and Oskar Masfen are in 68th place overall improving throughout the day - finishing 25th, 24th and 19th in the three races sailed.

The RS Games and RS Feva Worlds are open entry, and any owners/crew can enter. The RS Feva Worlds have attracted a fleet of 185 boats, and over 1,000 boats are competing in all classes in the RS Feva Games.

Three Kiwis are competing in the RS21 British Championships - part of the RS Games. Alison Morris (helm), Geoff Rasmussen and Kent Russell lie 5th overall in the 13 boat after three days racing in the event.
