The fourth scheduled sailing race of the "Rodos Cup 22" was different from the rest of the competition.
The start from Symi took place in low weather, which soon developed into apnea. Thus, for a distance of 7 miles, to Cape Alopos, the boats' trip took three hours, on average.
After that, the direction to Rhodes had a favourably strong wind, 4 to 5 Beaufort and a treble, so the arrival in Rhodes was very soon.
The boats docked at the welcoming facilities of Rhodes Marina, one of the sponsors of the race.
That same evening, at the Rhodes Marina facility, a spectacular closing ceremony took place. The wonderful dinner was offered by the Municipality of Rhodes, which was also the sponsor of the race. The South Aegean Region was honoured as a co-organizer, the Municipality of Rhodes as a major sponsor, as well as Rhodes Marina.
Nikos Nikolis, as the representative of the regional governor Giorgos Chatzimarkos, Alexandros Koliadis as the representative of the Mayor of Rhodes, Antonis Kambourakis, as well as the Director of the Marina of Rhodes, addressed a brief greeting during the awarding of the honorary plaque, by A.S. I.A.Th. Rhodes, for their most important contribution to the success of this race, which is one of the biggest in the eastern Mediterranean and certainly one of the most important in Greece.
For the overall results:
- In the IMS1 category the boat SUGAR was ranked first, MARIA ELEKTRA second and BLUE SHARK third.
- In the IMS2 category the boat MOUSMOULO was ranked first, DAS BOOT second and ALOUSTINA third.
- In the IRC1 class, MATRAK II was first, JASON second and OMANI third.
- In the IRC2 category the boat ADA SAILOR was first, HOT PANTS 3 second and YEDICERILER third.
- In the CRUISING1 category the boat KIA ORA was ranked first, TAKE WIND second and PANDEIA third.
- In the CRUISING2 category, PEITHO was first, SUMMER MELODY second and BLUES third.
