Australians advance in the overall standings - Black Knight's Germans hold out, keeping second place overall

After ten races and above all the inclusion of the second discard, the overall classification of the Mark Foy European 18-footer Australian Championship, being held on Garda Trentino with the organization of the Circolo Vela Arco and the collaboration of the Italian Sailing Federation, is going increasingly in favour of the Australian crews.

The performance of Lazarus Capital Partners (Ashley-Marshallio-Williams) continues on a glide path, leading by 8 points over the Germans of Black Knight (Von Bayern-Tom and Andy Martin), the only Europeans to hold their own against the Australian team, as they are followed in third place overall by the other down-under of "The Rag & Famish Hotel" (Price-McKnight-Hall), who managed to discard a DNS and a disqualification, bringing themselves back in line with their potential.

In fourth place overall the other Australians of Burrawang Young Henry (Near-Warren-Rollerson) also benefiting from the discarding of a DNS and a retirement in Race 7. The next positions for the European teams are those of the Brits of Black Dog, second continental and fifth overall, and the Germans aboard "Peroni" third European.

The great work of the Circolo Vela Arco and Garda Trentino Vela Consortium staff on the water should be noted, who worked hard in the moments of strong winds and the consequent scuffles of the participants, to assist the boats, which were not easy to tow or straighten.

Racing finishes on Friday 22 July.
