Uniboat and Physis PEB take the first and third steps of the podium with an Italian made photovoltaic system.

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, the annual event that brings together renewable energy enthusiasts in the exclusive setting of Monaco Bay, has just concluded.

From July 4 to 9, teams of engineers from around the world competed in speed, endurance and maneuverability races aboard renewable energy boats they designed and built.

Organizer of the event is the Yacht Club de Monaco, which has always been committed to promoting research and development activities in sustainable boating.

Team Uniboat, with its boat Futura 2022, won the MEBC for the second year in a row, placing first in all categories: Endurance Race, Slalom Race, Championship Race and winning the best technical presentation prize as well.

Physis PEB, in its first participation, raced with IONE 1.0, gaining 3rd place overall.

The Turin-based company Solbian built the solar system for both teams, providing 582Wp of custom panels to Physis PEB, and a 520Wp system of SP-series panels to Uniboat.

Luca Bonci, CEO of Solbian, attended the event and commented on the Italians' performance, "These events represent a crucial aspect of raising public awareness of renewables and their potential, as well as a great testing ground for our products. We have supported many teams over the years and had the opportunity to participate with our products in several editions of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, getting a front row seat to the constant and vertiginous evolution of technologies in this field. We are proud of the results achieved by the two teams. Thus, we are even more pleased to have partnered with Uniboat and Physis PEB."
