Peters & May, the leading provider of bespoke global transport solutions for almost five decades, has announced a new partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organisation dedicated to reforestation, in line with their task of helping to protect the environment.

One Tree Planted devotes its efforts to environmental conservation and restoration across the globe. The organisation prides itself in making it simple for everyone; whether that be businesses or individuals, to give back to the planet, planting trees to restore nature and biodiversity.

Every tree planted brings positivity for people, nature, and wildlife. Trees are essential for carbon absorption, water filtration, oxygen release, expanding habitats and protecting endangered species, to name just a few. Peters & May pledges that, as of 1 July 2022, for every shipment booking it receives, it will donate one tree to be planted, anywhere across the globe.

One Tree Planted supports projects all over the world including North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and The Pacific. Since Peters & May operate on numerous continents, it aspires to donate trees to each continent reflecting the company's locations and the nationalities of its employees.

Since 1973, the global marine company, Peters & May, has provided the essential service of marine transport for clients from yachts and superyachts to commercial cargo and freight forwarding. Whilst the service provided is unparalleled, the company recognises that the nature and specifics of the work isn't the most environmentally friendly, with carbon emissions and waste generation being the primary environmental impacts.

Including One Tree Planted in its business model provides the perfect opportunity for Peters & May to begin to offset its current corporate footprint, with the aim of planting thousands of trees before the end of 2022.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with One Tree Planted and the prospect it brings of giving back to nature." Says Simon Judson, CEO at Peters & May. "As part of our philosophy at Peters & May, we believe there are always opportunities to improve our performance and we are proud to be part of an initiative that extends far beyond planting trees - we strive to create a better future together."

Ashley Lamontagne, Forest Campaign Manager at One Tree Planted, commented on the new partnership "We appreciate the support of Peters & May and all the great work we will be able to do as a result of this partnership. Through their contributions we will be able to plant more trees and benefit people, nature, and biodiversity."

As a solution to the climate crisis, reforestation has been consistently identified by scientists as one of the most effective methods, and trees planted as part of the initiative will support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. One Shipment and One tree at a time, Peters & May and their customers will contribute to restoring the health of our planet.
