Thirteen nations, over 250 children between juniors (Division A) and cadets (Division B), a great desire for wind, sailing and regattas.

These are the elements that will characterise the Optimist d'Argento Trophy from 23 to 25 June, an event organised by Circolo Vela Torbole in collaboration with the Italian Sailing Federation, the Optimist Italia class and the Garda Trentino Vela Consortium, which manages the preparation of the electric buoys for all the clubs in the Upper Garda area.

Also present were racers from the United States, who by now habitually choose Garda Trentino for trips on selection, combining training, regattas, and tourism.

There are two main events reserved for the Optimist class organised by the Circolo Vela Torbole: the first coincides with the end of school and is the upcoming Trofeo Optimist d'Argento, now in its 47th edition; the other coincides with the end of the season and is the Halloween Cup, an event that attracts almost 500 racers from all over Europe and is usually the last regatta of the season on Garda Trentino.

The Circolo Vela Torbole's focus on youth activities is therefore always high, especially on basic activities such as the Optimist, school boats that have trained many champions.

In addition to the top five in each category, prizes will be awarded to the best clubs, with the Silver Trophy being won by the club with the best four juniors classified and the Cadet Silver Trophy being awarded to the club with the best two cadets classified (with the lowest net score). A prize designed for clubs, which contributes to giving additional value to the regattas, allowing a team spirit to be created for each sailing club, even in a single discipline such as sailing.

Everything is ready for a three-day event where fun, preparation and technique will be well mixed for an event to remember! The largest category (200), the juniors, will be divided into three batteries; first races on Thursday 23 June from 12.30 pm.
