Alinghi Red Bull Racing produced another excellent showing on the final day of the TF35 Mies Grand Prix on Sunday, winning two out of three races to take first place on the podium and move to the top of the TF35 Trophy standings.

Here is all you need to know:

  • In the second regatta of the 2022 TF35 Trophy season, Alinghi Red Bull Racing went into the final day at Lake Geneva with a one-point lead over Realteam Sailing for Leman Hope.

  • That was thanks to the team securing two wins and two second-place finishes on the opening day of the event. That was followed on Saturday with victory in the long-distance Genève-Rolle-Genève race in a super-quick time of three hours and two minutes.

  • On the final day of the Grand Prix, three races were possible and it was clear that it would once again be a shootout between Realteam and Alinghi Red Bull Racing.

  • Following a short delay as the teams waited for a storm to pass over Mont Blanc, the action got under way and it was Alinghi Red Bull Racing who edged out Realteam to secure the victory in the opening race.

  • The roles were then reversed in the second race as it was Realteam who crossed the finish line in first place, with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing team this time having to settle for second.

  • It was all to play for in the final race of the weekend and there was plenty of drama as the storm clouds moved in and rain began to fall. With the weather only worsening, the decision to finish the race at the windward mark was made and it was Alinghi Red Bull Racing who claimed the victory.

  • Pierre-Yves Jorand, co-general manager of Alinghi Red Bull Racing, said: "It was a fantastic weekend. The team produced a great performance. Not only with their speed but also with their manoeuvers and tactics."

  • The next stop of the TF35 Trophy will see the teams once again competing on Lake Geneva, this time in the famous Bol d'Or Mirabaud - the world's largest inland lake regatta - on June 11.
