The Y8 - as individual as you are

by YYachts 2 Jun 2022 17:03 PDT

The YYachts success story began with the Y8. After the iconic "Cool Breeze", the first ever YYacht, and further individual Y8 follow-ups, YYachts now developed a new 80-footer.

For the new Y8, YYachts' Palma de Mallorca-based design and development team worked with Javier Jaudenes of Surge Projects, who is known for his love of fast and beautiful yachts in addition to award-winning sailing yachts.

In contrast to the previous Y8, the new model has a wider stern, so in combination with the mast set further back, Surge-founder Javier Jaudenes predicts high speed potential for the design: "The Jib will provide a lot of speed. Many of R&D results from previous projects have gone into the Y8. It is an essence of our experience and will be fast, but at the same time very safe under any conditions. The fact that YYachts builds from carbon naturally suits our philosophy." Jaudenes: "The new Y8 is a lot of fun. I would describe her as a good-mood yacht.

Thanks to the well thought-out design the interior volume of the yacht is 20 percent larger. This results in many different layout options: The owner's suite including a separate saloon can be located either in the bow or in the stern with direct access to the cockpit, the galley can be installed open or closed, and three or four cabins can be fitted. As the decoration and interior styling of the Y8 can be completely customized the yacht is the most individual in her class.

She will be fast as always and a beauty on the sea. The first units of the new Y8 have already been sold. Number one is in good progress: hull and deck have been joined, delivery is due soon.
