The first event of the 52 Super Series 2022 gathered in the waters of the Rías Baixas nine teams of six nationalities to contest the ABANCA 52 Super Series Baiona Sailing Week.

Incredible five days of racing gave to the American's Quantum Racing its first victory since 2019 and set it up as the first leader of the season, ahead of South Africa's Phoenix and Germany's Platoon.

The Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona hosted this historic first visit of the world's most important monohull racing circuit to Galicia, convincing owners, crews and organisation with an impeccable event. The competition took place on the race course located in front of the majestic Cíes Islands, at the entrance of the Vigo estuary, and the conditions allowed eight of the ten scheduled races to be sailed.
