Canadian sailor Sarah Douglas from Toronto, ON, will lead a Canadian team comprised of a total of eight athletes at the second World Sailing World Cup of the season to be held in Almere-Lelystad, NED, May 31 to June 5.

At the first World Cup held in April during the Princess Sofia Trophy in Mallorca, Spain, Sarah Douglas won her first career gold medal at a World Sailing competition in the ILCA 6 event.

Next week, she will be joined in her class by Coralie Vittecoq, Clara Gravely and Maura Dewey. Marie-Ève Mayrand and Logan Sutherland will compete in Formula Kite, while the team made up of Zoé Roosen and Nicolas Tosi will represent Canada in Nacra 17 at this competition where approximately 400 sailors will compete in various classes, including nine that are part of the Olympic program.

"I'm looking forward to getting back to racing here in the Netherlands," said Sarah Douglas. "It's a new venue for the World Cup with lots to learn. Sailing in Almere will bring short steep chop, which is something we don't sail in often, so it's a new challenge and an opportunity to work on a different technique. I'm always looking for new ways to learn and improve on my skills."
