In a major step forward in Europe WASZP has partnered with the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) and Luna Rossa to provide a foiling pathway for the next generation.
It is fantastic to see professional sailing and a local MNA collaborating to give alternative pathways for sailors. Something we are extremely passionate about at WASZP.
Francesco Ettorre - President of the Italian Sailing Federation: "Sailing has already begun an opening process by proposing itself as a healthy, educational and useful sport for the physical and psychological maturation of children. The Foil Academy has been strengthened thanks to the collaboration with Luna Rossa, an excellent level world of the competitive navigation model on foil, laying the foundations for the beginning of a path with stimulating and ambitious objectives. The Federation believes in the goodness of this project, Luna Rossa has given the willingness to trace it together to create a new generation of sailors. Today, ideally, we are taking the first step in this direction."
Max Sirena - Skipper and Team Director Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli: "The team is very happy to collaborate with the Italian Sailing Federation for the realization of the Next Generation Foil Academy. This series of meetings and training will be fundamental for the development of young Italian sailors who have to do more and more with foiling disciplines and to bring sailing closer to an increasing number of people who are looking for new emotions. The project involves the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team at 360 degrees, starting with the Design Team that will support the Olympic Team on a technical and technological level. The main objective of the initiative is to give life to a movement that is formative for new generations of talents and Italian sailors."
The WASZP_X has now launched in Italy and will be officially welcomed by the FIV as a junior foiling pathway this weekend!
