The Long Beach Yacht Club is pleased to announce the invited competitors for the Seawanhaka International Challenge Cup to be held May 31 to June 5, 2022. There were a large number of applicants, so the field will be very strong for this iteration of the Cup. In fact, we have a record number of invited teams - larger and more international than at any time since the late 1980's.

The global field of competitors stretches from Europe to North America to Oceania. Of course, those teams include Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht club and the present holder of the Cup, Long Beach Yacht Club. Also competing is Minima Yacht Club on the River Thames just above London, which participated in the original event in 1895.

Seawanhaka Cup Invited Clubs:

1. Chicago Yacht Club - Illinois
2. Long Beach Yacht Club - California
3. Minima Yacht Club - England
4. Royal Canadian Yacht Club - Canada
5. Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron - New Zealand
6. Royal Norwegian Yacht Club - Norway
7. Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron - Australia
8. Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club - New York
9. St. Francis Yacht Club - California

The Seawanhaka Cup is on display at Long Beach Yacht Club and there is a flurry of activity in preparation for this prestigious regatta. Make your plans now to come join us in June.

Race documents, event history, and other details are available on the 2022 Seawanhaka Cup web page found on the Long Beach Yacht Club website at www.lbyc.org.
