Sail Canada shared the following statement regarding Canada SailGP Team's athlete announcement today in advance of their debut in SailGP Season 3, starting May 14 in Bermuda, which includes two-time Olympian Tom Ramshaw of Toronto, ON and Canadian Sailing Development Squad member Georgia Lewin-LaFrance of Chester, N.S.

"Sail Canada would like to congratulate all of the sailors selected by the Canada SailGP Team for its inaugural season, in particular the Sail Canada National Team Member and two-time Olympian Tom Ramshaw and Canadian Sailing Development Squad member Georgia Lewin-LaFrance."

"Sail Canada believes that these opportunities will provide them an additional and different experience, an added-value to benefit them on their road to the 2024 Olympic Games. Sail Canada will work with the Canada SailGP Team and these athletes to maximize their preparation for the SailGP events, as well as for the international Olympic classes competitions."

"As the team will also include 2-time Olympian Luke Ramsay (BC) as well as its past National team members Isabella Bertold (BC) and Billy Gooderham (ON), SailGP is a great new opportunity for our Canadian sailors, and exemplifies how sailing is a sport for life. Good luck to the team!"
