Hosted by the Royal London Yacht Club, the sailing regatta will take place on Friday 19 August and Saturday 20 August, and is open to all Uffa Fox-related designs of dinghies, keelboats and yachts.

These include but are not limited to Firefly, National 12, International 14, Redwing dinghy, Pegasus, Albacore, Jollyboat, National 18, Flying 10, Flying Fifteen, Foxcub 18, Harrier 20, Flying Fox, Foxterrier 22, Foxhound 24 and Atalanta.

The regatta forms part of the UF50 celebration to commemorate sailor and boat designer Uffa Fox at Cowes Parade from 18 - 21 August, and marks the 50th anniversary of his death. A legend in his lifetime, Uffa Fox (1898 - 1972) was one of the most highly regarded naval architects and enthusiast of all aspects of sailing. The UF50 celebration was conceived by the Atalanta Owners Association.

UF50 is a celebration of Uffa's life to mark the 50th anniversary of his death. The focal point of the event will be Cowes Parade which will not only be the area for a static display and parking of Uffa designed boats but also the starting point of the Uffa Fox trail around Cowes and East Cowes where examples of Uffa's history and heritage can be seen.

Four races are scheduled and it is the intention of the race committee to run two races on Friday and two races on Saturday; however a maximum of three races per day may be sailed. The target time for each race will be 45 minutes for dinghies and 60 minutes for National 18s, keelboats and yachts.

UF50 principal sponsors are Cowes Town Council, Cowes Harbour Commission, Beaverbrook Foundation, Cowes Town Waterfront Trust, Classic Boat Museum, Commodores House, Royal London Yacht Club, Delphie Lakeman Trust and Dartmouth Distillery Company.
