RMK Marine is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the construction of a 65-metre superyacht to be built to a design by Ivan Erdevicki and his Vancouver-based studio, ER Yacht Design.

ER65 - as this project is provisionally identified - will boast state-of-the-art luxury and comfort features, ice & polar class requirements, latest generation hybrid propulsion, a helipad with re-fueling station, hangar for the tenders and for a deep water submarine with dedicated watertight compartment.

'We are very excited about the idea of building this craft - said bzgur Numan, Yacht Department Director of RMK Marine -. When we first saw the general arrangements and the profile of the yacht, we simply fell in love with its elegance and graceful sheer line, which is quite a rare feature nowadays'.

Given its size and volume, ER65 will become the flagship of the yacht division of RMK Marine, whose commercial counterpart has built and delivered a number of ships of over 150 metres in length. 'As RMK Marine - Numan underlined -, we have built numerous ice-class vessels to polar standards, as well as many world-class yachts, and for these reasons our shipyard is a perfect fit for a project such as the ER65'.

The interior design, to be also provided by Ivan Erdevicki's studio, is conceived to be in harmony with the overall exterior style: classy, but at the same time plain and clean. It will accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 20. Distributed on five decks. Other amenities will include a library, sauna, gym, beach club, massage room, and medical room, as well as additional accessories such as two eight-metre custom built aluminum expedition tenders and jet skis to be stored in the above-mentioned tender garage, with port and starboard hull doors and telescopic cranes.

'This is the kind of project that a yacht designer waits for all his life - said Ivan Erdevicki, founder and CEO of ER Yacht Design -. The owner specifically requested a custom-designed long-range go-anywhere project for an expedition motor yacht, with style and an elegant timeless-classic look, that I was very happy to land on his desk'.

'ER65 - the designer added - will be used as a true expedition vessel continuously cruising the world for many years to come. The owner plans to visit the polar regions in it, as well as tropical areas of the world, enjoying ocean passage as well as anchoring in the calm harbours of the Mediterranean Sea: a versatile craft that will embody the true meaning of expedition yacht, fully in the style of the elegant timeless classics'.

The exterior design of the yacht is minimalistic. All surfaces are carefully shaped to slight 30 compound curves with rounded edges to provide synchronized sculptural shapes throughout the length of the yacht. This creates an almost organically sculptured, but technically controlled overall design.

Built to strict Lloyd's ice class standards and polar class requirements, ER65 will be one of very few yachts to carry the title of Polar Code Category B - Ice Class PC 6. The keel will be laid during the third quarter of the current year, while the yacht is expected to see completion during the summer of 2025.
