Sail Canada is pleased to announce that sailing fans across the country now have another opportunity to support the National Team by sharing their Aeroplan Points.

Starting today, sailing fans can donate points on a one-time or ongoing basis by earmarking 2% of their miles automatically every time they earn by visiting the donatepoints.aircanada.com/charity/1428.

Each year, Sail Canada National Team Athletes & Coaches travel to various regatta venues around the globe as part of their training and race schedules, while courses instructors fly across Canada to deliver clinics to develop coaches, instructors and officials, which translates to $500,000 in travelling expenses. Fans and supporters can now support the programs by donating Aeroplan Points to offset expenses such as air travel, car rental and hotel stays.

"We strive for Canada to be a leading sailing nation in performance and training, and to achieve this, our athletes and coaches travel extensively - internationally and domestically," said Don Adams, CEO for Sail Canada. "I'm excited that we're adding one more way for you, as a fan, to have a direct impact on helping our Canadian Sailors achieve excellence."

A goal of 25,000 Aeroplan Points for 2022

Sail Canada is looking to collect 25,000 Aeroplan Points by December 27th, 2022. If the organization comes near that goal before the deadline, Aeroplan will donate 10% more points to help Sail Canada make it to this finish line.

Join the crew and move your Aeroplan Miles to support our National Team!
