10 months of development and another10 months of construction, the first Aeolos P30 was launched on 22.1.2022 in Port Rashid. In the meantime, the trial phase has been completed and the first customers have been able to test the boat.

The feedback is overwhelming: "no weaknesses in the design" - "impressive performance in light winds" - "the yacht of the future" - "the quality of the Aeolos P30 hulls is convincing".

The Aeolos Performance 30" (P30) is optimised for single and double shore sailing and performs in a wide range of offshore conditions up to category A. Easy transport and launching, small maintenance costs and much more keep running costs to a minimum and allow the racing sailor to concentrate on what makes successful: training and racing.

The aggressive full negative bow and pronounced chines blend into clean, streamlined lines designed to cut through the waves and eat up the miles. Aeolos lives by the philosophy of "Form follow Function", every line, every turn is based on technical requirements to combine minimum drag and maximum propulsion into a unique performance.

The exit angle of the stern lines when heeling is almost zero, which means perfect gliding properties. And with up to 34 degrees, the keel weight works very effectively - so you carry your sails much longer than usual. CFD calculations have shown that a single rudder and a close eye on the wetted area are best for short and medium distance racing in typical wind conditions around the world. However, for long distance racing in strong winds, a twin rudder system is better. If you are unsure of the intended use, you can choose either system and switch from single rudder to double rudder and back again in a matter of minutes.

The Aeolos P30 not only breaks with visual habits, but also with conventional series yacht construction: all boats are oven-baked from carbon prepregs, processes and quality management similar to those in the automotive industry are intended to revolutionise yacht construction. With success: the first Aeolos P30 Kasko was only 3kg heavier than calculated - 583kg light instead of 580kg. The finished boat weighs only 1.6t, which is up to 30-50% less than competitors on the market. With 9,14m length the boat is carrying more than 800kg ballast on a 2,3m long retractable keel. That means a ballast ratio more than 50% (800kg). Compared to that power/potential the ORC measurement numbers are very good.

With 5 boats under construction and many orders, the goals have already been exceeded and the Aeolos P30 is on its way to becoming a standard class. "I am overwhelmed by the demand," says Aeolos manager Hans Genthe, who is more than satisfied, but already has further plans: "The boat is ORC-optimised, but for me really fair sailing only takes place in a standard class. Establishing the AP30 as a one design would be a dream."

Quality control and internal process optimisation are part of the shipyard concept. That is why trailer production and upholstery are now being expanded in parallel.
