World-leading British performance-wear brand Musto has launched a new Flexlite Alumin dinghy sailing collection for spring summer 2022. Designed with key input from the British Sailing Team, the collection cements Musto's position as world leader across all competitive sailing disciplines. This announcement follows the renewal of Musto's four year contract with the British Sailing Team as Official Clothing Supplier.

Michael Beckett, British Sailing Team member and current ILCA7 European Champion, is the face of the new collection. "Musto is the gold standard in dinghy performance wear," Beckett commented.

"It was important to play a role in shaping the new Flexlite Alumin range as nearly all the team wear the apparel in cold water conditions, as we continue to hunt for those marginal gains. The Musto designers listened closely to our feedback and integrated it into the new products. I feel confident that my Flexlite Alumin gear will allow me to give my best performance on the water."

The new Flexlite Alumin 3.0 Hikers have been three years in the making with continuous design, development and testing with the British Sailing Team. The neoprene thickness has been increased to 3mm to provide additional warmth and Musto's unique Alumin* fabric provides the heat benefits of thicker and heavier neoprene in a lighter, more dynamic product.

Nick Houchin, Musto's Head of Marketing, commented: "The original Flexlite Alumin range set the standard for cold water wetsuits and have been used by our ambassadors competing at the highest echelon of the sport. We wanted to take this collection even further, with new innovations, to give dinghy sailors the edge over their competitors."

Alumin backer (four-layer neoprene) for increased thermoregulation.
Thermal quick-dry grid backer at chest and back.
Integrated fiberglass batons between the Kevlar protective layer and the neoprene, to offer a smoother finish and prevent baton movement. They are ergonomically staggered, grading up above the back of the leg.
3mm internal neoprene knee pad
Body mapped neoprene provides stretch and stability in areas where it is needed most.
Improved neoprene grade offers stretch and lightness.
Kevlar reinforced shins, knees and seat.
Thermal backer at the thigh, maintaining warmth.
