The NSCA will be 'live' at the RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show over the weekend of 26-27 Feb and look forward to meeting and greeting actual visitors.

While the 2021 virtual reality show enabled the UK dinghy scene to touch base with sailors, it was clear that there is nothing quite like seeing, touching and talking about dinghies and the return to reality, this year at Farnborough is another step toward a normal world.

The Solo stand will be manned by a number of the Committee, headed by our Class President Patrick Burns if the Scottish government let him out of Edinburgh for the weekend. The stand has been organised, unsurprisingly by our show co-ordinator Nick Hornsby who also doubles as Chief Measurer, who says men cannot multi-task.

Our Honourable Secretary Graham Cranford Smtih will be available Saturday to answer Solo related questions, ably assisted by his lovely wife Fiona. They are also a formidable Merlin Rocket team so should you meet them in mid conversation discussing the spinnaker hoist, do not go home and rig one on your Solo.

Our Membership Secretary John Steels will be on hand on Sunday to take questions on...membership and all things Solo. John will be joined by Guy Mayger, our Vice President, do not be fooled by his gentle voice, he is a formidable opponent on the water and also an intricate part of the Solo Media team.

Will Loy will also be at the Show in his role of Publicity Officer and is always keen to interview anyone with a pulse so please approach him with the words "I have an amazing Solo story I must share with you".

There will be two Solos on display, a Winder Mk 2 which is fresh out of the Winder yard and will serve as the demo boat for 2022. Special mention to Winder Boats, Superspars, North Sails, CB Coverstore, DinghyShack, Noble Marine and Allen Brothers who are supporting this NSCA initiative.

The second Solo won the 2021 RYA Virtual Dinghy Show Concours d'Elegance. 'Minz' is owned by Simon and Brenda Hoult and this 20+ year old Gosling has been refurbished especially for the show.

Please do come and visit us on stand C62, we look forward to meeting new and old friends and talking about the great little dinghy that Jack built back in 1956.
